Problem & challenge
Two-way control-line leak communication. The line could not hold pressure, with gas ingress and pressure build-up. The insert-valve sealing system relied on swellable O-ring packing.
Objective
- Seal the control-line leak in situ.
- Reinstate control-line and TRSV functionality.
Solution
Diagnostics identified severe injectivity of 616 ml/min at 3,500 psi and pressure build-up of 305 psi in 30 minutes. Hyperseal deployed proprietary PAS by leak severity, continuously evaluated sealing, and installed an on-site back-pressure manifold to manage gas ingress.
Result
The control-line leak was sealed after positive and negative pressure testing. Gas blowout on bleed-off was eliminated, with flowtube movement and tubing inflow testing supporting reinstatement of control-line and TRSV functionality.
