Problem & challenge
Surface leaks were present on several wells before and during a P&A campaign. Leak severity was uncertain and wellhead components were heavily aged, creating schedule and rig-cost risk.
Objective
- Quantify leak presence, communication path and severity.
- Restore hanger sealing so P&A operations could continue.
Solution
Diagnostic tests across 11 wells, with multiple treatment options held on site. Time Activated Sealant was used within the rectification programme.
Result
Eight severe wellhead leaks were cured, allowing operations to continue without interruption to the original schedule.
