Production optimization
Field L remote well monitoring during infrastructure blackout
SapuraOMV · Field L, Offshore Sarawak
Problem & challenge
Newly completed wells required continuous pressure visibility during a 6–8 month infrastructure blackout period before jacket installation.
Objective
- Maintain reliable remote well monitoring throughout the unattended period, including during monsoon conditions.
Solution
A remote monitoring system was installed together with Ex-rated solar panels and battery banks, providing an independent power supply for continuous data transmission.
Result
Continuous well pressure visibility was maintained throughout the blackout period, giving the customer reliable remote access to critical well data without permanent platform power.
